Kristen Clark Houch

Kristen Clark Houch is a pastel artist who picked up her first soft pastel after the global pandemic.  Like many struggling with isolation and home confinement, Kristen used the time as an opportunity to explore her past passions, including art.  After serious introspection and self-reflection, Kristen emerged from the global pandemic believing the following: life is fragile, the sands of time pass by quickly, and the greatest gift of all is to love and be loved.

To that end, Kristen discerned that her purpose in life, and her ultimate expression of love, is to pursue her passions and to share them with the world.  She creates art for the sake of art; her art has no other intention than to create beauty for her viewers.  She hopes that you find her art to be aesthetically pleasing and that it brings joy, beauty, happiness, and hope to your life; this is why she creates. 

Kristen’s devotion to capturing life’s beautiful images informs her subjects, vibrant color choices, and methods of painting.  She hopes you leave feeling better for having viewed her work.  Indeed, Kristen believes that art has healing powers.  It can lift the spirit, renew the mind, and speak to the soul.  It can create a sense of wonder and awe in the eye of the beholder.
